The greatest challenge some days for bloggers is deciding what subject they care enough about to comment. You can talk about an issue that is affecting the world at large, the community your blog resides in, or you can do what I’m doing now and write something off “the top of you head.” Which method works for you is personal, of course. There is no right or wrong way to do it. So how do you decide?
Do what comes naturally for you
If you have a hard time caring about the subjects in your niche, then go ahead and write a series of articles that do resonate with you. The key is to be thorough. Take your time and pour some of your knowledge into your efforts. Half the battle on the internet is being unique. You rarely see truly interesting articles that haven’t been “done to death” by others. So if you can write totally unique content that interests people, you’ve already moved to the head of the class.
If you are the type of person who enjoys commenting on the news around you, your job just got very easy. Depending on your subject matter, there may be a near constant data stream of happenings, so you can just write short and to the point notes on the current stories. If you show a high level of comprehensiveness, people will flock to read your blog.
The answer is right there, you just have to look
There is almost always something you can write about. If worse comes to worse, you can do subjects that have already been done, and put your spin on them. The mainstream media does this every day. They cover many of the same types of stories again and again, with slight variations.
The subject you pick in the end can’t be wrong. As long as it enlightens the readers to some degree, no one will be complaining. After all, you aren’t charging for anyone to look at your content, so no one can say something too negative!
