A Blogger Can Never Surrender

Churchill never gave up…and it was a good thing for millions

Winston Churchill was an inspirational leader to millions. In the darkest days of World War II he inspired the citizens of his nation to stand tall against any and all adveristy. Can we, as bloggers, take solace in the words of a world leader?

We shall never surrender and even if, which I do not for the moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, will carry on the struggle until in God’s good time the New World with all its power and might, sets forth to the liberation and rescue of the Old. .

All we have to do is replace “Britain” with “My Blog” and we have a philosophy to live with.

No matter what will happen to our blogs, we can’t give up, for giving up is the only sure sign of defeat. As bloggers we should embrace all challenges, for being challenged is what helps us take our measure as people. I love change, even as I fear it, like most people do. If we can embrace changes and constantly upgrade ourselves and our blogs (which really are our product), then we will continue to sail on rough seas that are primarily populated by charlatans and ne’er do wells. In the end, we will succeed.

So the next time you’re upset that a drive-by commenter has insulted you, or Google drops your website traffic, or you turn in your best story to Digg and you get One vote and 4 flames, don’t despair. Life is still much easier for a blogger than anyone else. Just dust yourself off (virtually), get back on your horse and ride again into the day, unafraid, with full knowledge that if you don’t give up, you will never, ever lose.

Now get out there and kick some ass!
