Okay, we’re getting into the nitty gritty of the Earn Money Blogging series, and now we’re starting to mention some “fine points” as your overall knowledge of making money online goes up. One of the keys to making money blogging is to “direct” visitors to pages that are most influential and profitable for you. Exactly which pages on your blog these are might remain a bit of a mystery, but with some investigation, you should be able to discover them. Certain pages will result in high CTR, or conversions, that will directly result in you increasing your earnings.
The nature of blogs is linking. Therefore, readers of blogs become accustomed to clicking on links, especially if they respect the authority of the blogger. If they know she usually sends them to great stories, then they’re likely to follow and keep on reading. The same applies for search engine spiders. They’re also likely to follow and to rapidly add the target page to their index (and to define it with the words you added to the anchor text of the link). Hence, when you decide to link to a source that you’ve already written, be clever when you craft the link.
As always, good headlines and titles help. To keep anyone interested for long, you need to make their experience at your blog worthwhile. You can’t afford to be careless in any aspect of the job. Make the anchor text in your links interesting to both readers and spiders alike, and you’ll be rewarded with more visitors to more pages on your website. This is the Holy Grail of web marketing. Getting more people to view more pages on your website is almost guaranteed to increase your revenue.
Another way to craft a great-deal of useful interlinks is to do a “blog series”. This is a related group of posts, all about one subject. This gives you a chance to show a unified understanding of you subject, which will increase your expert status, as well as giving you a chance to expose interested readers to posts you’ve made which may now be buried in the archives. Bringing related topics back up to the top give you a chance to earn again on your older pages, which is really the key to making money blogging.
For this reason, I suggest adding a “related posts” plugin, if you haven’t already. In case you miss creating links, at least it will be done automatically for you. It’s a bit more work to craft numerous links, but is worth the extra effort when payday rolls around.
When it comes to internal links, you control the whole process. You’re in charge of the entire process of internal links. For this reason, I feel, a great emphasis is placed on them in search engines. The anchor text you choose for your internal links is critical, and shouldn’t be done lately. Linking using the word “here” is a complete waste of time, and it makes you look like you were barely trying.
Learn the intricacies of the HREF well. There aren’t many, and it shouldn’t take you long, but therein lies the bread and butter of your blogging.

Great article Darren. I am not very good at linking. Thanks a lot for it as I could learn some useful things from your article. This is the beauty of blogging. You can write anything and you can read anything.
