Keeping yourself motivated to blog

Sometimes you might feel like abandoning your blog. You just get tired of maintaining it. It hasn’t brought you the fame or fortune you sought. Whatever reason you may have, it has crossed the mind of nearly every blogger and many of them have followed their instinct and quit the job! But that might not be the best thing to do, and chances are they could have prospered in the long run had they stuck with it. That can be the story of life sometimes for some people. Right when you’re nearing a breakthrough, you give up.

I had a burst of traffic for a minute, but it cooled off in the last few days as Summer started to kick in in parts of the world where there are only 3 warm months. People, of course, headed out of their houses, brushed the cobwebs off of their campers and picnic equipment and got some fresh air.

There weren’t as many of them to click on their computers, and all you can do is deal with the fact that people have lives, and they don’t always involve surfing the web. No matter whether your traffic is at an all-time high, or is bouncing off of a sickening low, you need to keep a level head about the whole thing.

One way to stay motivated is to keep focused on whatever long term goals you have for your site. You also can take a look at your internet marketing methods, and you can see if there’s a room for improvement. Make an assessment of the quality of your blogging? Is there something you can do better? There almost always is. Focus plus perserverance is a deadly combination, especially when applied to a new medium like blogging. Persistence alone should be enough to win you an audience. And no matter how minor you might think that is: consider the untold millions of people who lost their lives around the world because they couldn’t say what was on their mind, and they didn’t have anyone to hear them if they did. There’s something miraculous about a medium that gives the power to the people, and that’s enough motivation to keep me going right there.
