If you’re blogging for dollars, there are a number of ways you can increase your income daily. Some are obvious, but others might take a small change in how you do things:
1) Start selling your own product or service. If you’re an affiliate marketer only (this includes Adsense and PPC), you have a number of advantanges, but being paid a lot isn’t one of them. As an affiliate you are, by default, a middle man. Almost everyone attempts to control costs by cutting out the middle man. If you sell your own product or service, your have greater pricing control than if you don’t.
2) Analyze your stats and find out what really is making you the most money. Then do more of it.. If you find you’re spending a lot of time on something that brings it unsatisfactory earnings, then do less of it. By prioritizing, you increase your income without even having to come up with new methods. Maximize your best methods and minimize the time you spend on activities which aren’t directly related to your success and your earnings will rise.
3) Tweak your ads. Again, huge differences can be made, depending on how well your ads perform. If you’re running Context Sensitive Ads a doubling of your CTR would mean a doubling of your income, generally. It costs you nothing to tweak ads, and can give you an instant pay raise.
4) Get more traffic. It’s the easiest way for a website to make more money. The more visitors you have, the easier it is to monetize traffic. You need to dig into your handbook of tricks and find new ways to bring in people, as well as relying on standards. Getting more traffic has to be an unwritten tenet of your daily blogging anyway.
The time for increasing your earnings is now.

All good tips. The last one is foremost in my mind at the moment - increasing one’s traffic will really lead directly to helping solve all the other difficulties about making money off of blogging. It’s the same way with anything, really - the more people are interested, the more flexible you can be and the more varied you can be in your approach to monetization.
Now HOW to increase your traffic is a whole ‘nother story … we could write whole books on that one!

There are lots of ways to increase your traffic, if you use your creativity and all of the technology available at your fingertips.
RSS is just one great way to get yourself out there. Other medias like podcasting and videocasting are another great thing to consider.

Good point, Heather. Advertising for podcasting and videocasting may still be in its infancy, but look out! I tihnk we might see billions upon billions spent on that in the next few years.

I don’t think there’s any way around it. At the very least, curious advertisers are going to pump a ton of money into podcasting and videocasting. It’s fair to call both technologies “can’t miss”.
People with videography skills are going to be able to capitalize on this easily. Mobile phones alone will need tons of content. The market is huge.
