If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to check out Sphere.com. The website has some nice features that aren’t available on other services, and I particularily liked how they do Blog Profiles like that one from Blog Republic. They also have a Featured Blog section in which you can nominate your favorite blogger.

Sphere

All in all, Sphere pretty much looks like everything we’ve seen already. They’ve also went ahead and excluded the profiles and Featured Blogs from robots.txt, so people they link to will receive no benefit. Sphere has a “Related Media” section which uses Yahoo API Web Services to make queries for additional websites. I spent 10 minutes exploring Sphere. I’m sure that’s about as long as their average visitor will hang out. Unless something major happens, Technorati and even IceRocket have little to fear from this new venture. TechCrunch seemed excited about the whole site, but I share the concerns of most of the commenters. It’s an already crowded space, where it will be tough for Sphere to stand out.
