May is a good time to push towards year end blogging success

May is a great month in many ways. The weather in “cold parts” of the world heats up again. The flowers bloom, the birds beging chirping in the sky, and hungry bloggers who dream of global domination start plotting their push to the finish line. May is a time when many blogs will fail, and a chosen few will rise from the ashes of mediocrity to assert their pre-eminence by year end. Which kind of blog do you run?
If you answered “I run an as of now undiscovered gem of a blog which is soon to grow much larger in popularity”, then your task is obvious. You need to bear down while others are resting on their laurels. Nothing stands still in the BlogOSphere, and rot will get to anyone who isn’t careful. What can you do to ensure that you keep on advancing? Forward movement is the best way, because you’re bound to catch someone napping.
Does anyone remember who the hottest blogger in 1999 was? I don’t, and I can’t be alone. What have you done for me lately has to be the question on everyone’s mind. Blogging glory is short-lived, and a fame so fleeting as hardly to be noticed. Money, however, lasts forever. If you can build a readership that produces an ever-increasing residual income your job is done, or at least a good part of it is.
Have you accomplished your blogging goals for 2006? There’s still plenty of time if you haven’t.
As a blogger, one of the key assets you’re compiling is your archive, which essentially represents proof of your constant work and your attention to your craft. The better and bigger your archive is, the more likely it is you have a readership, and the more appealing your blog is to new readers. 2006 is still a young year, but it’s aging every day. 2007’s big blog winners are being determined right now. Good luck with yours.

My goal is simply to earn more money this month than I did the month before. After a few months of this, I may actually be making some good money from my blogging, which is the ultimate goal after all.

There’s no doubt that’s a great goal. If you earned more money each month of your life than the prior month, you’d end up a very rich man.
